Fun Activities - Summer

In the heart of lake country, Ogopogo Resort is ideal for a couples or family based all season vacation/getaway.. We have also seen a growing trend for grandparents to vacation with their grandchildren giving Mom and Dad a break and creating special memories. We have created an environment that is both safe and relaxing for all. Swim, play in the sand, fish, canoe or kayak, go tubing and water-skiing and relax all on-site. Fabulous golf courses are within 15 minutes not to mention hiking and biking trails, live theatre, local artists studios, and white water kayaking.

Sand Beach & Swimming

Ogopogo has a sand beach area for young and older alike to enjoy the crystal clear waters of Mountain Lake. Our dock is great for swimmers looking for deep water.

Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddleboats, SUPs & Fishing Boats

Our small navy of boats is available for the use of our guests. There is no charge for our non-motorized craft and fishing boat rentals are available on a daily or weekly basis. There is a safe children’s play area near the pool.

Fishing on Mountain Lake

Mountain Lake has great Small Mouth Bass, Muskeye, Pickerel and Lake Trout fishing. Check out our fishing pictures under the activities section of our website. We offer for rent; 18 ft fibreglass boats complete with 25 hp electric start motors and swivel fishing seats.

Heated Swimming Pool

For those who like an alternative to the lake, we have a lovely heated pool (weather permitting) open late May until the September long weekend. There are lounge chairs along with patio tables to sit and read a book, watch your children and is an alternative option to enjoy the afternoon sun.

seadoo jet-ski Fun!!!!

New for 2023. We are now offering a 3 person 2023 SeaDoo GTX Pro 130 for rent! This sea doo is an extremely stable GTX Model and comes with full IBR reverse braking system as well as a 100 Watt Bluetooth Stereo System for your listening pleasure.

Hiking and biking in haliburton county

Haliburton County boasts some great trails for hiking and biking whether it is a casual walk or a more serious adventure. Most trails are separate for hikers and bikes. Your hosts have maps of self-guided tours so please ask for them. In addition, Sir Sam`s Ski and Bike is about a half of an hour drive boasting some of the more scenic bike trails in the area as wll as the chair lift ride to the peak in summer and fall for those of you looking to take in the sights. They are known in the area for their downhill mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, bike rental and pro shop. Visit Sir Sam`s Ski and Bike for more detailed information.

Area Activities

Haliburton County has a seemingly endless list of activities in the summer. Ask us about the Highlands Summer Festival live theatre and the Kinmount theatre and movie museum . Visit artists’ studios, antique shops, a miniature pioneer village, and the world’s biggest general store! Algonquin Park and the Haliburton Forest Wolf Center are only a short drive away.

Relaxation time You can't control the weather so it was a cool weekend. We have enjoyed this resort before and are never disappointed. It is small and quiet. There are a lot of outdoor toys for activities of all ages. The cottages are small, but cozy. I am grateful not to have to drag linens with me but I prefer soft pillows rather than the hard pillows supplied. The coffee maker was not properly cleaned, but other than that all was great. If you decide to go out for breakfast the Heather Lodge is close by, reasonable and absolutely amazing!

Just like home Katherine & Todd were very hospitable and generous with helping us plan our stay in the area. Todd met us at the car and transported our luggage to the cabin via snowmobile & toboggans. My daughter and I went snowshoeing on the lake, made a nighttime fire and enjoyed so many other activities in the area. The cottage was warm and clean and was just perfect for 2 people getting away for a winter holiday. I'd love to stay at Ogopogo again, we were very sad to leave!

A great winter getaway We were there for three nights in a 2 bedroom cottage. The location is handy to several activities and restaurants. The cabin was immaculate and the kitchen very well equipped. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Covid protocols were well followed We will definitely go back.

Loraine and Graham Wise Accommodations were super clean, bright cheery rooms, bedrooms were warm, very well equipped kitchen. Skating rink well groomed, and nicely lit for night skaters. Ice huts adequate for ice fishermen. Owners Todd and Katherine very accommodating and friendly. We would highly recommend Ocopogo to others. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.

Hidden Gem We spent 3 nights in a 3 bedroom cottage in January. The resort is immaculate and the owners go above and beyond to look after their guests. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. The kids were occupied from dawn to dusk skating on the rink, whipping down the toboggan hill and catching trout and walleye. Hands down the best resort we’ve ever stayed at, a real hidden gem! Thank you to Todd and Katherine for starting a new tradition for our family, we will be back!

Winter stay at Ogopogo We were impressed at how well the kitchen was equipped. The cabin was very clean. The Staff was always super friendly and helpful. Close to Sir Sam Skiing. We enjoyed tobogganing and the outdoor fire pit.

A Fantastic Place at the Best Price The setting was lovely, the cottages were very clean and well maintained, and the owners are great people. The easy access to the lake and boats was easily the best part, but it was also nice being close to the many towns and trails we wanted to visit. This is both the most affordable and the nicest place we have lodged and would definitely go again.
